Supplemental archeological investigation, including shovel tests and ground-penetrating radar, has been completed on the property in order to further document the site’s historical significance and catalog period artifacts. Exterior painting and siding is complete on all buildings, as well as reconstruction of the front porch on the Farmstead Tavern House. Future work, depending on grant funding, will include further electrical upgrades, disability access, a restroom, and a rear porch.

  1. The work funded by our current grant from Warren County is proceeding well. The tenant cottage has been painted an historically accurate cream color. The windows in the main house are being installed and repairs and exterior painting are moving along. Keep watching to see the front porch being built. It’s so rewarding to see progress at this site, something all Knowlton residents can view with pride.
